TRFC legend Shaun Garnett has encouraged the SWA to pack Prenton Park ahead of this weekend’s crucial game against MK Dons.
He played in front of crowds of 15,000 and above so knows more than most the impact that the SWA can have going into games at Prenton Park.
Garnett, who made 112 appearances including winning the Leyland DAF trophy and promotion from Division Three said: “Playing in front of a bigger crowd is massive for both the players and staff. Over the years, Prenton Park has generated an atmosphere that has helped us achieve the success that we have.
“Our supporters over the years have been very loyal and have been so important to the Club, both in the bad times and the good. If we could fill some more seats on Saturday, I know it would be a great lift for the lads”
With part of the Club’s focus being on growing the next generation of fans, Shaun thinks that now is the time to bring along the #SWA2 to Prenton Park.
“The next generation of fans is so important so Tranmere Rovers. We’ve got to do our best to encourage kids to come to Prenton Park and I think that the #SWA2 initiative is a great way to do that and help keep this Club in a healthy position”
The Club’s community values are at the core of what we do at Rovers and this sentiment is echoed by Shaun.
“The community plays a massive part in what we do here. Ever since I started here in the 80s, it has been a community Club and the whole community will play a massive part in any success we have this season.”
Our highest attendance in the league this season was 8,098 against Carlisle United. We’re challenging the SWA to beat that and #PackThePark for what promises to be a brilliant atmosphere.
