Micky's Forest Green reaction

19 April 2019

Manager Micky Mellon spoke to the local media following Good Friday’s 1-0 loss at home to Forest Green Rovers.

Tranmere, who played in front of more than 9,000 home supporters, couldn’t find a deserved goal against the visitors, and will now move swiftly on to Monday’s game at Lincoln City.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, the boss said: “I won’t say I am hugely frustrated as it is not my job to be like that, but I will look over the performance and try and help the players to keep going and move on very fast.

“We will comb over the game and see what we can get better at. A wee bit of fortunate never came our way and at times the goalkeeper has made a couple of good saves at crucial times for them when it could have changed the course of the game.

“All the momentum is with us for the last 30 minutes, but we are disappointed with the goal. The boy has finished it well, but we need to look where we are when the ball came across on the edge of the box. We will try and improve on that.”
