Hepburn-Murphy can't wait to help TRFC

3 August 2019

Forward Rushian Hepburn-Murphy is looking forward to getting going at Tranmere Rovers after he made the move to Prenton Park on a season long-loan from Aston Villa on Friday.

The 20-year-old Birmingham-native is eligible to make his TRFC debut in Saturday’s Sky Bet League One opener at home to Rochdale after becoming Micky Mellon’s 10thsigning of the summer.

And Hepburn-Murphy, who has made appearances for Aston Villa’s first-team in the Premier League and Sky Bet Championship, as well as featuring for Cambridge United in Sky Bet League Two last term, is excited about his loan on the Wirral.

Speaking to TRFC’s official website, he said: “I can’t wait to get going at this Club and I want to get things going as quickly as possible especially after getting promoted last season, I want to see how well we can do in this division.

“The Club did well last season, they got promoted. I played against them and I liked their style of play so coming in here in League One is a step up from last season so hopefully I can come here and do well.

“It got done fairly quickly, a few people spoke to Villa, Villa got the paperwork over the line as quickly as possible and I was in training.

“I want to use my experience of the other leagues that I have played in to hopefully help the team and do well this season and I can’t wait to get going tomorrow.”

Rushian’s first interview as a Tranmere Rovers player will be available on iFollow.
