Kane Wilson joins TRFC

9 August 2019

Tranmere Rovers are delighted to announce the signing of defender Kane Wilson from West Bromwich Albion on loan until January 2020.

The right back has been at The Baggies since 2007 and has progressed through their U18 and U21 squads.

Wilson has been involved in West Brom’s first team training camps in Austria and has appeared on the bench in their Premier League fixture against Middlesbrough.

The 19 year-old has gained valuable football league experience with Walsall and Exeter City whilst also making appearances for England at U16 and U17 age groups.

After agreeing the deal, Kane said: “I’m buzzing to get started because I think that this is a great opportunity for me.

“There was a few offers but I felt Tranmere was the right move for me and the manager was really welcoming when I spoke to him.

“I’m a player who gives 100% when I’m on the pitch and I’ll do whatever the team needs me to do. I can’t wait to get started now.”

Manager Micky Mellon was extremely happy to bring Kane to the Club, he said: “We’re delighted to bring in a player of his quality with a decent amount of experience.

“He’s had a few successful loans now and so we’re happy to have him on board especially with the injury problems we have at full back.

“I’d like to thank West Brom for allowing us to help him with the next part of his development”
