Ferrier delighted to open TRFC account

17 August 2019

Forward Morgan Ferrier is delighted to open up his Tranmere Rovers account after his double helped inspire a 5-0 victory over Bolton Wanderers at Prenton Park on Saturday.

The 24-year-old Londoner struck twice, firstly on 40 minutes when he diverted Kieron Morris’ corner into the bottom left-corner from close-range before adding his second by drilling home a minute after the restart.

Micky Mellon’s men secured their first victory of the Sky Bet League One campaign against the Trotters, with Ferrier’s brace coming either side of strikes from Ollie Banks, Connor Jennings and Stefan Payne sealing a five-star performance.

Ferrier said: “It is great to get off the mark and the main thing is, we have got the win so if my goals can contribute to the team and we can move forward.

“No matter who you come up against, you can’t take anything away from the team, we were clinical, and we are delighted.

“The gaffer has been talking to me about my movement in the box and I’m pleased that I have got my first goal, and to get my second goal in front of the Kop at that end of the stadium, that was probably my best moment of the day.”
