Full-back Kane Wilson believes that his loan deal at Tranmere Rovers is a “great opportunity” for him to progress as a player.
The 19-year-old arrived at Prenton Park on a loan deal until January from Sky Bet Championship outfit West Bromwich Albion, becoming Micky Mellon’s 12th summer signing.
And the teenager can’t wait to get going in a TRFC shirt as they compete in Sky Bet League One.
Wilson said: “I’m buzzing to get started and this is a great opportunity for me.
“This is now my fourth loan and there’s positives and negatives going out on loan so early but a massive positive is that I’ve got so many games under my belt now. Tranmere was the best option for me where I feel like there is game time here and the manager definitely made me feel welcomed when I spoke to him.
“I want to kick on now and he (Mellon) said to me that he wants me to play the way I play and enjoy and thrive in the environment that he has created here.
“To be a part of it is really something nice and I know that it is something that he’s created and all parties are happy and hopefully the better I play, the happier it makes Tranmere and the Tranmere fans and Micky so it’s something I’ll enjoy and look forward to.
“I’m someone who gives their all on the pitch and do whatever the team needs me to do, a lot of fans and a lot of teams respect someone who puts 100% effort in and that’s someone that I am and I always walk off the pitch knowing that I couldn’t have done anymore.”
Wilson is eligible to play in tomorrow’s fixture away at Portsmouth and he feels the trip to Fratton Park will be a good test for Rovers.
He added: “I played a few League One games last year so I know that the league is like and Portsmouth are a good team and I know it will be a good test for the team but hopefully we’ll get three points.”
