Danns looking to build momentum

13 December 2019

Tranmere Rovers midfielder Neil Danns is keen for the side to “keep pushing on” as they prepare to visit Lincoln City on Saturday.

Should they earn three points at Sincil Bank this weekend, Micky Mellon’s men could move up two places to 18th should results go in their favour.

And Danns, 37, says the squad are working hard as they look to push on, with Michael Appleton’s Imps awaiting them.

Danns said: “We are working hard with the gaffer and all the staff so hopefully we can continue that and keep pushing on.

“The good thing is that the performances are there, we’re not just competing, we’re actually playing really well. When we do draw them games, we always look like the team who are going to win it.”

Danns believes that the confidence is there from the players, and he feels that wins will come following on from positive performances in league and cup of recent late.

He added: “The confidence is there now, and the team has settled into the league. There is a lot of games over Christmas so we will be looking to maximise the points in that period.

“We’re playing well, so it gives you a good platform and the next three or four weeks are going to be important that we keep that momentum.”
