Tranmere Rovers are delighted to announce a further two year extension of their front of shirt sponsorship agreement with Essar. The deal will see the energy company logo on Rovers' home and away shirts for both the 2020-21 and 2021-22 campaigns.
Essar owns and operates the Stanlow Manufacturing Complex in Ellesmere Port, which has been producing high quality fuels for over 60 years. It is a major supplier in the North West and beyond with customers including most of the major retail brands operated by international energy companies and supermarkets, Liverpool John Lennon and Manchester Airports, leading commercial airlines and the region’s trains and buses. The recent acquisition of distribution assets in the Midlands has seen Essar further extend its marketing envelope across the country.
With sites at both Stanlow and Tranmere on the River Mersey, Essar is a major regional employer and contributes an estimated £60 million each year to the local economy. The company has also made an award winning entry into the UK fuel retail market, with over 70 Essar branded stations already open and many more in the planning stages.
Rovers' Chairman Mark Palios said: “I am delighted that Essar have extended their shirt sponsorship deal with the Club. It represents the Club’s growing relationship with a great business that contributes so much to the local community and its economy.”
Essar Chief Executive Officer, S. Thangapandian, commented: “We have an extremely good relationship with Tranmere and are delighted to be able to support them for a further two years beyond our current agreement. The progress the club has made over the past few years is incredible and we look forward to strengthening our ties with them, both on the football side and out in the community that they so actively support. Essar believes in investing in the development of the region and community around Stanlow.”
