Tranmere Rovers defender Calum Woods says the team will take the positives from Sunday’s draw against Blackpool into the New Years Day fixture against Coventry City.
Rovers made it five games unbeaten at home in all competitions with a 1-1 draw against the Seasiders in the final match of a memorable 2019 for TRFC.
Speaking in his post match press-conference, the former Preston full back said: “I thought it was in all the way, it was a really good save by the goalkeeper. Connor has struck the ball so well but unfortunately the goalkeeper made an excellent save. On another day it could have gone in.
“I am feeling good. I am doing everything I can to stay fit and I’m glad I’ve completed the full game today. It would of been nice to get a win today. It was a good performance but we need to take this into next Wednesday’s match against Coventry City.
“We were excellent today in defence and dealt well with their threats.
“I always want to help the younger lads in our squad with the experience I have. Whatever I can do to help I will, I want to help the team as much as I can and the aim is to stay in the team.
“It will be a tough game on Wednesday and they’re a good team. It’ll be an interesting match but one we are confident we can win.”
