Tranmere Rovers midfielder Connor Jennings is expecting a tough test when Notts County visit Prenton Park on Saturday afternoon in League Two.
Rovers will aim for a third win in four games against Neal Ardley’s Magpies following on from Tuesday’s 2-1 victory away at Port Vale.
Top scorer James Norwood scored in each half at Vale Park, his second being assisted by Jennings with a lofted through ball, as Rovers climbed up to ninth in the fourth-tier and are now just three points off the Play-Offs.
Notts County head to the Wirral bottom of the table, two points from safety, but Mancunian Jennings knows TRFC will face a battle on their hands to earn the maximum points.
Jennings said: “I thought it was really good. I thought we started off really well and obviously Norwood, he’s on fire at the moment so that always helps but I thought we have done really well, the last week has been great.
“If we can get three points on Saturday it will be a great four games.
“Every game is tough, there is never an easy one. We played there just before Christmas and obviously that was a disappointing result, so we know that they’re about. We’ve been working hard since Tuesday, getting our heads focused for it so believe we can win it and get the three points.
“Obviously we’re trying to get in to the Play-Off spots and they’re trying to escape relegation, so it will be two teams going at it with three points up for grabs so hopefully we can win on Saturday.
“We are all very confident (about making the Play-Offs), the players we have brought in January strengthened the squad. We are looking really good, we’re all very confident but there’s still a long way to go and a lot of hard work to do but we will keep going and based on the last three or four performances, we should be fine.”
