Micky reacts to win against Stevenage

9 February 2019

Manager Micky Mellon insists his team have to keep the same mentality as they showed in the 2-0 win against Stevenage.

Rovers were on the front foot from start to finish, as goals from Kieron Morris and James Norwood sealed the win.

Speaking in his post-match press conference, the manager said: “We must give the lads great credit for their performance. We knew we had to keep a clean sheet and score the first goal, so all credit to the boys and the staff for achieving that.

“We have to keep on going, keep our levels high. We had a really strong mentality from the first to the last minute to do our jobs really well. It was a fantastic result.

“Everyone could see today we have very talented players. The squad looks very strong at the minute, but we will not let ourselves off the hook, our mentality has to be the same all the time, like it was today.

“We delivered today but it is only one game, we have to do this all the time. We have to attack the last part of the league season.

“We have to keep on defending and attacking like we did today. We knew it was going to be a difficult challenge and we had to get everything right in order to get a result, it was a solid performance and a great result.”
