Sid Nelson on Stevenage game

8 February 2019

Defender Sid Nelson admits it was a pleasure to play in front of the Tranmere Rovers faithful for the first time on Tuesday night, despite the result not going Rovers’ way.

The centre back, who is on loan from Championship outfit Millwall until the end of the campaign, says the team are aiming to put things right this weekend against Stevenage.

Nelson said: “This is a great Club and I heard a lot of positive things about Tranmere Rovers. It was a pleasure to play in front of the home fans for the first time on Tuesday night, however the result hindered it, but we are aiming to put things right on Saturday.

“We will gel as a team. We can take some positives away from Tuesday, I believe we were the only team looking to take a result, but we gave away two avoidable goals which cost us.

We will go into Saturday with the same attitude, mentality and cut out giving away the avoidable goals.”
