TRFC Soccer Schools a success once again!

22 February 2019

It has been a jam-packed week over at Bebington High Sports College as the Tranmere Rovers February Soccer School brought in record numbers of budding young footballers.

Despite the turbulent weather conditions throughout the week over 60 children turned up fully-kitted, ready to play and to make new friends at the same time.

Open to a wide range of ages, each day was divided into a fulfilling mix of training sessions to develop key skills and small sided games to get everyone involved in a mini tournament - having loads of fun in the process.

Our dedicated, FA qualified coaches created two sets of courses to ensure each and every child got maximum enjoyment from their sessions.

The Mini-Strikers Course for boys and girls aged four to six provided an introduction to the game for younger players before the regular Soccer School took over for those aged between six and twelve.

There was a whole host of skill on display from all ages as the youngsters took every opportunity to impress the Rovers coaches!

On the final day of the programme, each participant received a special Super White package containing posters, certificates, flags and trophies as a thank you for taking part. A final surprise came when two first-team players, Scott Davies and David Perkins, came to hand out the awards.

With prizes including star player, best penalty and favorite celebration there were plenty of certificates to sign and happy faces to take pictures with! Some of the parents even managed to sneak in a picture with the fan favourites as well.

Scott Davies said:

”I used to love going to Soccer Schools like this when I was a kid. I loved football at school and in half-term I always wanted to keep it up and keep playing whenever I could. Here at Tranmere Rovers there is a massive emphasis on the community side of football, these are the future fans of the club and maybe some of them will be future players! Long may these soccer schools continue as they do such an excellent job in getting kids into the game.”
