Gilmour and Miller sign permanent contracts at Tranmere Rovers

7 January 2019

Tranmere Rovers have completed the double signing of promising midfielder Harvey Gilmour, after a successful loan spell, and former Premier League striker Ishmael Miller.

Both players have penned permanent contracts with the Club, Gilmour signing until the end of the 2019/20 season, whilst Miller has signed until the end of the current campaign.

Gilmour, who was awarded with the EFL Young Player of the Month award in October 2018, has made the permanent switch from Championship promotion chasers Sheffield United.

Meanwhile, Miller, who has three promotions to the Premier League to his name, including two Championship winners’ medals, has played 18 times this season for Oldham Athletic.

Pleased to see both players sign permanent contracts with the Club, manager Micky Mellon said: “Harvey is a young lad who has blossomed as both a player and a person since he has been here.

“I am excited about his development and he will continue to grow. I am sure we will keep on making him better and better.”

Regarding striker Miller, who has played more than 10 years in the top two flights of English football, the manager added: “When he came available, we thought straight away that he is what we need, and he fits the bill perfectly.

“Ishmael provides a different option in attack and he will be a very good addition to the squad.”
