Having signed a new contract with Tranmere Rovers, forward Ishmael Miller is delighted to be staying at Prenton Park and is looking forward to playing for the Club again.
The 32-year-old signed for Rovers in January, scoring on his debut for the Club in a 3-1 away win at Cheltenham Town before suffering a hamstring injury a week later which kept him out of action as Tranmere went onto win promotion up to Sky Bet League One.
The Mancunian has now extended his stay on the Wirral and he is looking forward to pulling on a Rovers shirt in the third-tier.
He said: “I’m buzzing to sign again obviously got stalled as I had an injury, so I’m really delighted to be back.
“I honestly can’t wait to play for the Club again and I’m really happy that me and the fans have a rapport and it’s always a good confidence booster to have the fans knowing that I’m trying my best for the Club, the fans and everyone involved and hopefully it can be a good and successful time for the Club.
“It was obviously a great start (his debut goal away at Cheltenham Town) and then the next game I got the bad injury, so I’m delighted.
“I’ve been following the lads from my rehab following my injury and I’m buzzing that we got promoted, it’s what I had in my mind and what I intended as I thought promotion was possible and obviously the lads pulled it off.
“Promotion was unbelievable, it’s not done often as it’s a difficult thing to do but I already manifested and felt it was going to happen so it’s an unbelievable achievement.
“For the gaffer and everyone at the Club, it is a real great achievement so it’s great to be back.”
Miller feels that Tranmere can continue the momentum from their back-to-back promotions heading into the upcoming campaign, which begins with a home fixture against Rochdale at Prenton Park on Saturday 3rd August.
The forward added: “I had an assurance from the gaffer not long after the injury but once it’s signed and the contract is in front of you and you’re signing it, you’re 100% happy and you know it’s happening, the Club have been perfect and brilliant with me so I’m happy to be back.
“Going on from back-to-back promotions, confidence is high throughout the whole Club and I think if we all stick together, which I feel this Club tends to do with the fans, players and everyone involved, and we’ll stick together and have a good season.”
