Trophy Road Trip begins!

25 June 2019

Ever thought you’d be able to lift a trophy bigger than your entire body?

Pupils at primary schools throughout the Wirral are being given the chance to experience footballing glory with the Tranmere Rovers Trophy Road Trip!

Starting this week the Club are taking our Sky Bet League Two Play-Off trophy to a variety of local schools, allowing pupils to get up close with our most treasured piece of silverware.

The Club are currently celebrating it’s second successive League promotion after defeating Newport County in the 2019 Final at Wembley.

Tranmere have enjoyed numerous successful results at Wembley Stadium over the past three decades, which includes three Play-Off triumphs and a Leyland DAF Cup Final.

Over the weekend, the Play-Off trophy made an appearance at the Wirral Deen Centre’s ‘Great Get Together’ - bringing smiles to the faces of hundreds of young fans in the community.

Emma Palios, who is organising the tour with local schools, said: “The idea around the Trophy Road Trip is to engage as many young fans as possible with the Club and encourage them to get involved with their local team - as well as learning more about the work Tranmere Rovers in the Community do to keep children active.

"So far we have visited Stanley School in Pensby and Bidston Avenue Primary in Birkenhead, with plenty of photoshoots along the way!”

Pupils will have the opportunity to have individual pictures with the trophy and with classmates, they can also ask Club staff any questions they might have about life at Tranmere Rovers.

Keep an eye on our social media accounts for updates on where the Trophy is headed over the next couple of weeks.
