Banks speaks after win at home against Grimsby Town

13 March 2019

Tranmere Rovers midfielder Ollie Banks praised the squad's depth after TRFC stretched their winning run to five games with a 4-1 home win against Grimsby Town.

Banks returned to the starting line-up and played a key role in all four goals as Tranmere secured their sixth win in seven matches.

Speaking after the game, he said: "I thought we dealt with the difficult weather conditions well on Tuesday night and it was a great three points.

"The lads have been unbelieveable. We have been winning games and I have had to bide my time to get back into the team but hopefully I have taken my chance."

Tranmere are fifth in the League Two table heading into this weekend's game at Oldham Athletic. Banks, a former Latics midfielder, is hoping TRFC can extend their winning run to six league games.

Tranmere's number 28 concluded: "If we beat the teams in and around us in the league, it is not just three points but you are taking points off them too which is important. The lads are relishing the run in."
