Help Raise the Roof with Pat Nevin

16 March 2019

Fancy a night of delicious food and great entertainment in the company of two Tranmere Rovers legends? Of course you do!

Tranmere Rovers FC are hosting a fantastic fundraising night at the Riverhill Hotel in Oxton featuring a three-course meal, charity auction, raffle prizes and guest talks.

Donations will go towards the Club’s official Charity, Tranmere Rovers in the Community, and their Raise the Roof campaign to rebuild the Prenton Park Recreation Centre roof.

Taking place on Friday 22nd March, former Scottish international star and Rovers favourite Pat Nevin will be speaking on the night as well as Club Chairman Mark Palios.

From 1992 – 1997, Nevin made over 200 appearances for Tranmere Rovers and helped TRFC into the Play-Offs on three separate occasions. With other successful spells at Chelsea and Everton, Nevin has a wealth of footballing experience and a whole host of fascinating stories to tell. Club Chairman Mark Palios will be overseeing the proceedings on the night and is sure to add some of his own fond anecdotes along the way.

As keen advocates of mental health in sport, both men are passionate about promoting the Club’s official charity, Tranmere Rovers in the Community.

Guests attending will enjoy a sumptuous meal and fantastic atmosphere, as well as having the opportunity to find out more about the Community teams amazing work over the past thirty years.

Tranmere Rovers in the Community was established as a one-man team in the late 1980s - initially focusing on the use of football and other ancillary sporting activities as educational tools. Since then, the community department has developed into a registered charity and engages with thousands of people across the Wirral peninsula and beyond each year.

Working across the four core themes of social inclusion, health, education and sports participation - the community team’s work has expanded from coaching in schools to a wide range of projects covering all ages and abilities. Tranmere Rovers in the Community has developed a particularly positive reputation across the local area for providing support and activities for those with a variety of physical and mental disabilities.

With a serious leak now occurring on a regular basis at the Recreation Centre and events being forced to stop or close more frequently it is now desperate times for a facility loved and used by so many.

This amazing night of food and entertainment will work towards enhancing the Club’s ‘Raise the Roof’ campaign and gives fans the opportunity to understand the real heart of Tranmere Rovers.

Tickets are priced at £50 per head including a three-course meal. To purchase or for more information please contact Martyn on: MartynB@tranmererovers.co.uk or call: 07798700500.

We hope to see you there.
