We need you to Park the Park once again!

11 March 2019

Tranmere Rovers welcomed nearly 8,000 supporters into Prenton Park on Friday night as Micky Mellon’s team triumphed 1-0 against North West neighbours Crewe Alexandra.

The win, which was secured by James Norwood’s 26th goal of the season, was our fourth EFL league victory in a row, the first time we have achieved this feat for the first time since 2008.

Rovers’ win moved us up to fifth in the Sky Bet League Two table, and the focus is now on Tuesday night’s home encounter against Grimsby Town, as we go in search of our sixth win in seven matches.

Manager Micky Mellon said: “Our support is second to none. I am very grateful we have that kind of backing, we have a very educated crowd, but it is important to know that we need them!

“You can see the way the team reacts to our supporters and it has a positive effect. The support we have received from the fans has been terrific since I have been here.

“It is getting better all the time. There is a new group of fans growing at Tranmere all the time, young fans, who are being educated by the current generation of supporters how to support their football club.

“It is a massive responsibility, but it is fantastic to see how this generation are supporting the team and our fan base will continue to grow. It is important we have that type of support.”
