Tranmere Rovers are delighted to announce Essar as our new front of shirt sponsor for the 2019/20 season.
Essar plays a key role in powering the UK economy, with its Stanlow Manufacturing Complex in Ellesmere Port supplying high quality products for over 60 years to major energy companies and leading retail brands.
Large sections of the country’s road, rail, public transport and aviation sectors, including both Liverpool John Lennon and Manchester Airports, rely on Essar’s manufacturing expertise and security of supply to keep Britain on the move.
The company has also made a highly successful and award winning entry into the UK fuel retail market, with over 70 Essar branded stations already open across the UK and many more in the planning stages.
With sites at Tranmere and Stanlow, Essar have proud Wirral connections and play an important role in Merseyside and Cheshire, contributing an estimated £60 million each year to the local economy.
They have already been involved with the Club in the 2018/19 season with their sponsorship of the Essar Kop Stand as well as having their logo on the sleeves of our shirt for the televised FA Cup ties against Southport and Tottenham Hotspur.
The agreement will see Essar’s logo on the front of Rovers' new home and away shirts with the new home kit to be revealed this Friday at 5:30pm.
Rovers' Chairman Mark Palios said: “We’re delighted to further our relationship with Essar by
carrying their logo on the front of our shirts next season.
“We have worked closely with them over the past 12 months and there are a great deal of parallels between the two companies. Like Tranmere Rovers, Essar are a big employer in Wirral and have a firm commitment to helping improve our local community.
“Their desire to team up with us in community projects has been evident throughout our many conversations and we look forward to forming an excellent partnership with them.”
Essar Chief Executive Officer, S. Thangapandian, commented: “Having partnered Tranmere over the past 12 months, we are delighted to be able to further strengthen that relationship by becoming shirt sponsors for the new season. As a major local employer, and with an import Terminal on the Mersey so close to the ground itself, it seemed a natural fit to work with such a well-known
club. Rovers also have an excellent community programme and we look forward to supporting that activity going forward.”
Chairman Mark Palios said that Tranmere Rovers have enjoyed three years of fantastic support from Wirral based family business Bagnall & Morris Waste Services.
“B&M Waste came on our shirts at a time when the Club was in the National League and needed support. It was great to get that support from a Wirral based family business with the same community values.
“We’re very grateful to B&M Waste for the commitment they have shown the Club in recent years.”
Having begun their shirt sponsorship in July 2016, B&M have had their logo on Rovers’ first team kit for three seasons which included two Wembley visits, the second of which saw Tranmere win promotion back into the EFL.
They have also supported the Club’s community initiatives including the Green Rover project.
David Curtis, Director at B&M Waste said “We’re proud to have been shirt sponsors for the last three years which saw Tranmere victoriously promoted, deservedly so, into the EFL. As a local employer, and our routes very much within Wirral, we look forward to continuing to support the club as first team training kit sponsor for the 2019/20 season”
The initial delivery of the new home kits are now available to purchase in the Club Shop with a second drop following in the next few weeks.
