Tranmere Rovers manager Micky Mellon is relishing a third Play-Off campaign in a row as the Club prepare to face Forest Green Rovers over two-legs in the Sky Bet League Two Play-Offs.
TRFC will host Mark Cooper’s Gloucestershire outfit under the Prenton Park floodlights on Friday 10th May (7:45pm kick-off).
Mellon’s men then head down to the New Lawn on Monday 13th May (7:45pm kick-off) to contest the second-leg of the fixture.
And the Scot is optimistic about Tranmere’s Play-Off chances after they concluded the regular season in sixth position.
He also cannot wait to see the SWA to Pack the Park as TRFC push for a second successive promotion.
He said: “The regular season has gone now, and I want to thank the fans for their fantastic support, they have been terrific all of the way through, the boys have done terrific to get us in to this position and I’m really, really looking forward to it.
“We are really excited, we’ll get well prepared and let’s get it on, let’s go again and get Prenton Park bouncing and let’s see where it takes us.
“The way that they (Play-Off games) are scheduled on the Friday and the Monday, we would have seen that as a bit of a problem if it was the other way round getting down to Forest Green on the Friday and getting back early on Saturday morning for the game on Monday so we aren’t too disappointed that we are playing the first game at home, getting the players back to bed, rather than getting players home at two or three o’clock in the morning, trying to get them recovered for the Monday.
“We always had one eye on that scenario and now that’s the way it is, we’ll get the boys prepared for what will be a fantastic game.
“They (the SWA) are brilliant, they deserve to come and enjoy their day and we’ll look forward and get ourselves prepared for what is going to be a fantastic occasion at Prenton Park on Friday, it will be fantastic.
“We are delighted and we are really looking forward to the Play-Offs, we are going in without any pressure, it is an achievement for us to get in there and we will go in and give it all that we have got to get through the tie and get through.”
