Tranmere Rovers midfielder David Perkins is relishing the challenge that awaits the Club in the Sky Bet League Two Play-Offs.
Micky Mellon’s men, who ended the regular season sixth in the fourth-tier, will take on Mark Cooper’s Forest Green Rovers over two-legs.
Tranmere host the Gloucestershire outfit in the first-leg under the Prenton Park floodlights on Friday 10th May (7:45pm kick-off) before heading down to the New Lawn for the second-leg on Monday 13th May (7:45pm kick-off).
Perkins has made 16 appearances for Rovers since his arrival at Prenton Park from Sky Bet League One side Rochdale in January, believes that TRFC can head in to the Play-Offs with no fear and can embrace what lies ahead.
Perkins said: “There’s no fear, the game is over two-legs and we’re happy to be in the Play-Offs and happy to play Forest Green so we’re looking forward to the game.
“We know that the crowd will be unbelievable at our place, we know that they will be unbelievable away as well as the home game to be honest so we’re looking forward to the challenge.
“The Play-Offs are massive, they are brilliant, they are brilliant for the fans, brilliant for the players so we’ll draw a line and prepare.
“We have made the Play-Offs, we have beaten some big teams so you have to look at the bigger picture, we have done unbelievable this season, the lads have been magnificent, the gaffer and the staff can take all the positives.
“We’ll look forward to the games and we are quietly confident about our chances.
“There’s plenty of (Play-Off) experience in the squad, Scotty (Davies), he knows a lot about playing in them, Connor (Jennings) has experience so does Nors (James Norwood) so we have the experience in the squad and we will need to draw on those experiences to try and win the games.
“Prenton Park is a given that there will be an excellent crowd and the away crowd will be fantastic as well so we can count on their support and we’ll look forward to the challenge.”
