Caprice fully focused on Chichester

29 November 2019

Tranmere Rovers full-back Jake Caprice says that the preparation for Sunday’s Emirates FA Cup second-round tie against Chichester City at Prenton Park will be the same as any other game.

Micky Mellon’s men host the Isthmian League South East Division outfit in front of the BT cameras, and Caprice, 27, says that they must focus properly.

Caprice said: “It is like any other game. Every game brings different challenges and we are doing everything that we would normally do leading up to a game.

“We approach every game the same, with the same mentality. We know that they are coming up here wanting to upset the odds, but we have to focus and do our job.

“I’ve been on the other side of it, being a lower team going to a higher team. We know that they are going to be fired up and they have got nothing to lose.

“We have to make sure that our attitude is right and that our quality shows through.

“The TV cameras will be here, so there will be exposure and it is the same for both sides. We want the result as much as them."

Caprice also has his eyes set on a Premier League club should Rovers reach the third-round.

He added: “Last year we managed to get through to the third-round and we got the Tottenham tie which was brilliant for everyone involved and brilliant for the Club and brilliant for the players.

“To challenge yourself against a Premier League team is what we want again this year.”
