Tranmere Rovers goalkeeper Scott Davies has been crowned the Ladbrokes Northwest Football Awards Sky Bet League Two Player of the Year.
Held at Emirates Old Trafford, home of Lancashire County Cricket Club, Davies was selected for the accolade after keeping 21-clean sheets in Rovers’ promotion-winning season, where he clinched the Sky Bet League Two Golden Glove.
The Ladbrokes Northwest Football Awards is an annual ceremony which pays tribute to and recognises those who have achieved excellence on and off the pitch across the region.
Club captain Davies has been a key player for Rovers since signing in 2015, helping Micky Mellon’s men to back-to-back promotions.
Davies beat competition from Macclesfield Town’s Fiacre Kelleher, Morecambe’s Luke Conlan, and Callum Lang, who spent last term on loan with Oldham Athletic, to scoop the award.
Davies' success follows on from his Rovers team-mate, Connor Jennings, winning the Vanarama National League Player of the Year in 2018.
After collecting the award, he said " I'm delighted. It seems like a long time ago now but it was a great season in League Two last year and one that we all achieved great success in.
"To be recognised is nice but the award is also credit to my teammates as we all played a big part to get to where we wanted to be last season."
Congratulations Scotty, from everyone at Tranmere Rovers Football Club.
