SLO weekly update

11 November 2019

As autumn has well and truly arrived at Prenton Park, with its dark nights and wet weather however it hasn't deterred either the #SWA or your SLOs as they continue to work hard behind the scenes to ensure a great match day experience.

At the end of September, TRFC played host to the first ever Fan Engagement Event, which was ran in conjunction with Fans for Diversity. It was a successful evening that provided dynamic discussions and lots of food for thought regarding discrimination in football. We've had a number of away days, including long distance trips to Ipswich and Sunderland as well as great wins in Birmingham and Milton Keynes!

SLOs were present at all three away days supporting Rovers fans with a variety of issues - from needing directions to coaches and arranging alternative access facilities for those fans with limited mobility.

During a match day we continue to liaise with Cowshed's Catering, which has resulted in TRFC now providing food within The Marquee, increasing the revenue available for the club as well as the TRFC Store to ensure fans are provided with the correct ticket that matches their needs - both for home and away games. So far this season, we have added cleaning stations around the ground to enable fans to 'tidy up' their seats should a bird take a liking to it in between the regular deep cleans as well as continuing to add that extra bit of magic to a match day for families with our #SWASurprises. If you're inside the ground early before a match, it could be you receiving a #SWASurprise!

Throughout the season the SLOs will continue to voice fans opinions at regular meetings with a number of representatives from the club such as Nicola Palios, and Merseyside Police as well as our Safety Officer and staff from both hospitality and the store. These meetings allow us to ensure the match day experience for every fan is placed at the centre of all planning and we can feedback both positive and negative views following games.

As autumn turns to winter, the #SWA will be called upon to continue to play their part by cheering on the lads right until the final whistle. Whether that's in our upcoming league games (including another on Sky Sports) or in our FA Cup match against Wycombe Wanderers, we know the fans will be there to support the team and the SLOs will be there to support the fans.

If you have any feedback, questions, queries, issues or problems we'd love to hear them! This applies to both visits to Prenton Park and anywhere your Rovers journey may take you this season. You can contact us via our social media channels, email or you can ask your nearest steward on a match day. We're help to help in any way we can to enhance your match day experience!
