Wirral Grammar Girls to represent TRFC in EFL Girls Cup

21 November 2019

Wirral Grammar Girls School will represent Tranmere Rovers in the Utilita Girls Cup next round after winning the local schools’ tournament.

Five schools took part in the competition, with Bebington-based Wirral Grammar overcoming their competition, to be crowned as champions.

Wirral Grammar went onto beat Weatherhead in the final of the Utilita Girls Cup, with the next-round now on their agenda.

The tournament, which was hosted by Tranmere Rovers In the Community, brought schools from the peninsula together as they battled for the prize to represent TRFC.

Demi Martin from Woodchurch High, spoke of her experience competing in the Utilita Girls Cup, which is an EFL tournament.

Demi said: “We had a lot of fun and I got to play with my mates from my school.

“We live on the Wirral and to it is a great way to socialise and do something I enjoy.”

Everyone at Tranmere Rovers wishes the best of luck to Wirral Grammar Girls in the next round.
