Poulton Lancelyn to represent Tranmere Rovers in EFL Kids Cup

Poulton Lancelyn Primary School will represent Tranmere Rovers in the next round of the Utilita EFL Kids Cup after winning the Club’s competition at Bebington Co-op Academy on Thursday.

Over 20 schools from across the Wirral took part in the event organised by TRIC (Tranmere Rovers In the Community) to determine who would be represent Tranmere Rovers Football Club.

Competing in group stages, the top teams in each section progressed to a knockout round, where the Year Six team from Birkenhead-based Poulton Lancelyn finished up as tournament champions.

Pupil Charlie, who played in the Utilita EFL Kids Cup said: “I like playing because it shows good sportsmanship and I like playing football.

“It is good that we can be in contact with our Club and we can just go and play football and represent our school.

“We have a good environment to play in and we can have some good competition.”

Fellow player Cass added: “We get to play against different teams and try our best through teamwork.”
