Tranmere Rovers trio Bayleigh Passant, Carl Spellman and Danny Walker-Rice attended TRIC’s (Tranmere Rovers In the Community) Dementia Friendly afternoon on Thursday.
The lads spent the session speaking and interacting with members of the group, including regular attendee Richard, who spoke about his own football career and they discussed how the youth side of the game has changed over the years. They also spent time reading Tranmere Rovers history books with the attendees.
Dementia Friendly afternoons run every Thursday from 2pm-4pm and those with Dementia and their carers can spend an afternoon enjoying free activities at the Tranmere Rovers Recreation Centre.
Around 15/20 older people are engaged each week through quizzes, games, bingo and light exercise.
The team offer a supportive environment for other carers to meet and to relieve the pressure of looking after a partner full-time.
Goalkeeper Passant said: “It was great to spend time with the group, it's important to take time out and spend it with the community. It's great to see what TRIC do to help the community.”
