Morris: We are gelling as a team

20 September 2019

Tranmere Rovers midfielder Kieron Morris feels that the belief is in the squad, but they must showcase it more on a consistent basis.

Micky Mellon’s men host Burton Albion at Prenton Park in Sky Bet League One on Saturday afternoon, kick-off 3pm, with Nigel Clough’s Brewers making the journey up to the Wirral for a third-tier fixture.

It is the second time in a week that TRFC will be back in front of the SWA, following on from Tuesday’s well-earned 2-2 draw at home to Peterborough United, where they came from two goals down to secure a point courtesy of goals from Liam Ridehalgh and Ollie Banks.

Hereford-born Morris, 25, knows that TRFC have the confidence and believes the squad are gelling after summer arrivals.

He said: “We have showed loads of confidence and character and we need to show it more often and believe in ourselves more.

“If we can show that belief and confidence, we have the players and the ability to move forward.

“All games in League One are tough, it is a physical league, so it is going to be a tough game and we always go into every game thinking that it’s going to be the toughest one as that has to be your mindset and we will go from there.

“It is still early in the season and with the new players that have come in, we have changed our formation and the way we play, and we are gelling as a team."
