Rush looking to bounce back against Peterborough

17 September 2019

Tranmere Rovers forward Rushian Hepburn-Murphy feels that Micky Mellon’s men owe it to the SWA to bounce back when Peterborough United visit Prenton Park in Sky Bet League One on Tuesday night.

Rovers welcome Darren Ferguson’s Posh to the Wirral in the third-tier, 7:45pm kick-off, as they aim to respond positively from Saturday afternoon’s 3-0 defeat away to Oxford United.

Hepburn-Murphy, 21, who is on loan from Premier League outfit Aston Villa, gave his thoughts ahead of the midweek game.

Hepburn-Murphy: “We just have to bounce back, no matter what Peterborough did on Saturday, we can’t think about that and we have to focus on our performance and give the fans something back after the support they have shown us.

“The fans are wonderful. They are brilliant home and away and they come in their numbers and they always are right behind us.

“Tranmere have done well getting the back-to-back promotions and I want to help them do well again and I want to repay the fans with my performances.

“I want to score as many goals as I can and create as many goals as I can, I want to help the team but personally I want to do as well as I can for Tranmere.”

“I’m looking forward to the two home games this week, hopefully we can get a few points and a few goals, so fingers crossed.”
