Tranmere Rovers poetry competition has gone from Prenton Park to Iceland and now Sweden.
Rovers' fan group known as 'The Sweden Vikings’, most recently visited us last season when we beat Crewe Alexandra at Prenton Park in a 1-0 win.
Group member, Larne Wallisson, is also the proud owner of squad number 51 as he has been one of the largest contributors to tickets for the SWA2 and was awarded the squad number in recognition of his incredible contribution and support for the club.
Larne and the rest of The Sweden Vikings have recently taken part in the Club's Poetry competition that was launched as a way of getting fans to be creative and keeping their minds active during the COVID-19 lockdown.
The aim of the competition is to write a football poem about Tranmere Rovers and the group created the following about their visit to Prenton Park.
Here is the entry from The Sweden Vikings:
The Sweden Vikings in yellow and blue
will always to Tranmere Rovers be true
When the party at Prenton Park begin
we looking forward for a win
We know that Scotty and his defence
stop the attacks with excellence
On the midfield the brains operate
helping the forwards to create
And after the game we give our love to Micky and his men
with the golden promise, see you soon again
We would like to thank The Sweden Vikings for taking the time to enter our poetry competition, we hope they are keeping safe during this uncertain time and can't wait to welcome them back to Prenton Park soon.
