Tranmere Rovers captain Scott Davies says there is an added motivation and determination to succeed following the release of the fixtures on Friday morning.
Rovers will start their league journey at Mansfield on Saturday 12th September, and Davies told the Club’s website, the team is ready to go, they know the challenge ahead, and how important the fans will be moving into this new campaign.
He said: “We are all ready to go now, we have been training for a few weeks, the manager’s plans are coming together nicely, and the squad is looking strong. We now have something to look towards.
“You have to play everyone home and away so it doesn’t matter what order they come in.
“To have nearly 3,000 season ticket holders already sums up the Super White Army for me. I have touched on it before, but whilst I have played for this Club, they have been fantastic, and they are the life and soul of the Club.
“Without them, the Club does not function, and it just shows in times like these, they are still there fighting for their football club and making sure it is here for forever more.
“On a personal level, I feel like a massive wrong doing has happened to us all but we have to harness that in the right way.
“The players, the management staff, everyone who works for the Club, and of course the fans, need to harness the feelings we have and use those feelings to our advantage and use it as a motivation.
“We will have our day in the sun again, but we have 46 tough league games ahead, we know how hard the challenge is ahead, but we have come through the other side of it before.
“We are not going into the challenge blind, yes, we have an added motivation, but we know the job at hand.
‘It has been nearly five months since our last competitive football match. If you remember the end of the Blackpool match, how close the players and the fans were, that doesn’t leave you!
“They are what we are fighting for and to have memorable days like those again, they will come around. We have had some dark days in the last few months, but we will be all back together soon and we will bring this fantastic football club some more success.”
