A point to prove was the message delivered by James Vaughan after he put pen to paper on his permanent contract at Tranmere Rovers.
The striker followed Otis Khan and Jay Spearing through the entrance door at Tranmere Rovers, alongside Ollie Banks extending his contract, as the Club’s preparations continued for the 2020/21 campaign.
“I have wanted to come back for a while,” said Vaughan. “I am really happy to be a Tranmere Rovers player.
“When I signed on loan at the beginning of the year, the bigger picture was to join on a permanent contract.
“Since lockdown, we have been working really hard to make it happen and I can’t wait to join up with the team and get going.
Vaughan is very familiar to the facilities and personnel at Tranmere following his loan spell last season, and he is now focused on what he describes as a ‘big battle’ ahead.
He continued: “It is nice to see all of the familiar faces, we have a great bunch of lads. We have a good blend and I also know Jay Spearing too and I know what qualities he will bring to the team. I have been impressed with the recruitment so far.
“I know this area extremely well and the fans make this club who they are. We have a big battle ahead and if we all work together, we will be up for the challenge.
“Last season hurt, we are very disappointed with what happened, and we showed in the last few games, we were playing extremely well, and it was coming together.
“We have a point to prove that we should not be in this league and get back to the league above.”
