Tranmere Rovers first team squad have made a generous four figure sum donation to the Club’s ongoing Super White Christmas Appeal.
The first team squad have come together and kindly offered to support the initiative which is to help people in Wirral during the upcoming Christmas period.
This year’s plan is to deliver food hampers to 250 families and 100 elderly people and the support we have received so far has been fantastic.
With the Crowdfunder ending on Friday 4th December for cash donations to help fund the hampers, the playing squad, led by Club captain Scott Davies, have played their part to help support the local community.
Speaking about the donation, goalkeeper Davies, who joined the Club in 2015, said: “It is something we wanted to do, obviously during these times more than most. It is a difficult time, so to help and to give something back to the Super White Christmas Appeal is something I am really pleased the players have agreed to.
“We are all very proud to do this to help. We will always help in any way we can and with circumstances as they are, as people, we should be doing this.
“There are people who are struggling and that is not something we want to see. If we can help in any way, it is only small in the grand scheme of things but if we can help in anyway, we are very proud to do so.
“What Marcus Rashford has done for example is amazing, but in the grand scheme of things, what we have done is only small but sometimes you just need to know, if you are in a difficult time, we have all gone through difficult periods in our lives, to know people are there wanting to help is a massive thing.
“We as a group decided this is what we wanted to do and hopefully some people will take some comfort and as I say, it is nothing more than a gesture but one we are very proud of.”
