Tranmere Rovers manager Keith Hill feels that his side must challenge themselves when they make the trip to Bolton Wanderers on Saturday afternoon.
This weekend's match will mark the final match before Christmas as Rovers take on Ian Evatt's team, and the aim is to collect three points.
And ahead of the game at Bolton this weekend, Hill knows that Tranmere must only focus on themselves.
“I think the challenge is about us and the challenges are there for us to put right, so we’ll play the way that we know that we can in and out of possession,” Hill said.
“We have to make sure that we are comfortable with what we do in and out of possession. As much as we know about Bolton, their team line-up could change especially with the current situation with Covid and the current situation in the football world with injuries.
“We have been focusing on ourselves and what we need to do, and that’s what we intend to do on Saturday against Bolton.
“I don’t look at the league table, I look at the teams that we have got to play, the games that we have got remaining and where we need to be after 20 games, where we need to be after 23 games and going into the second half of the season.
“We are on point to achieve those targets, but the players have responded magnificently, and we have moved on very quickly.
“I am understanding the different dynamics and relationships with my players and I am really excited to be working with this group.
“If you look at the last 11 games, I think that we have won nine, so it is about revisiting our successes.”
With Rovers’ festive schedule looking busy, Hill believes that the squad should relish the busy run of games that Rovers face.
He added: “We have got a squad of players and we will select from the available players. We are pleased to be working with a group who are fit to play against Bolton, who are fit to play against Bradford, Barrow and Colchester, then the two cup games that we have.
“It is a brilliant time to be a footballer over Christmas because we love playing the game of football and to represent Tranmere Rovers and our supporters.”
