Tranmere Rovers Ladies advanced to the Cheshire County Cup semi-finals last weekend after beating Warrington 2-0 at Ellesmere Port.
In disruptive conditions of strong winds and hailstorm, Rovers prevailed to the last four of the county-wide competition.
An own goal and a strike from Lucia Molinari gave Rovers a deserved victory in comfortable style.
After starting well, Tranmere went onto dictate the first-half play, going close on numerous occasions.
Rovers were in front following on from the restart when Jade Collins’ delivered free-kick into the penalty area caused a scramble in the box, which was turned into her own net by a Warrington defender.
And Tranmere wrapped up the win late on, courtesy of Molinari’s well-taken strike after some good build-up play.
