Setting the scene…

Tranmere Rovers host Portsmouth at Prenton Park on Saturday afternoon in Sky Bet League One, kick-off 3pm.

Micky Mellon’s men welcome Pompey up to the Wirral, aiming to get back on track after last Tuesday’s home defeat against Doncaster Rovers.

Meanwhile, Kenny Jackett’s promotion-chasing South Coast outfit have won four of their last five games following on from last Saturday’s 2-0 triumph over Sunderland  at Fratton Park.

Team news

Morgan Feeney, Corey Blackett-Taylor, Ollie Banks, Mark Ellis and Evan Gumbs are all out of action while Peter Clarke is doubtful.

One to watch

Midfielder Ronan Curtis leads the way for Portsmouth this season with 13 goals to his name.

The Londoner has been on the books of Pompey since the summer of 2018 and has since gone onto be a first-team regular on the South Coast.

He started his career with Derry City in the Republic of Ireland, coming through their youth set-up.

Curtis switched to Portsmouth for £100,000 two years ago and he has made 66 appearances, winning the EFL Trophy in March 2019.

The 23-year-old has also won senior caps for the Republic of Ireland.
