Setting the scene…

Tranmere Rovers return to Prenton Park on Tuesday night for a Sky Bet League One fixture against Doncaster Rovers, kick-off 7:45pm.

Micky Mellon’s men were beaten 2-0 away to Bolton Wanderers last Saturday afternoon and will be aiming for a response.

Darren Moore’s South Yorkshire outfit, who find themselves four places and six-points from the Play-Offs, lost 2-1 at Fleetwood Town in their last outing.

Team news

Forward Andy Cook is eligible for selection this Tuesday after he signed on loan from Mansfield Town on Deadline Day.

Manny Monthe is also in contention to return having served his one-match suspension.

Corey Blackett-Taylor will be assessed ahead of the game.

Ollie Banks, Mark Ellis and Evan Gumbs are all out of action while Peter Clarke and Liam Ridehalgh remain doubtful.

One to watch

Midfielder Kieran Sadlier has impressed for Doncaster so far this campaign, leading their goal charts with ten.

Sadlier, capped by the Republic of Ireland at U17, U19 and U21 level, turned professional with West Ham United in 2013, going on to spend two years in the Hammers’ set-up.

After leaving West Ham permanently, spells at St Mirren, Peterborough United and Halifax Town followed before he moved across to Ireland in 2016.

Sadlier spent a season playing for Sligo Rovers prior to switching to Cork City.

In December 2018, Sadlier, 25, signed for Doncaster and has been a key player in Moore’s squad.
