Micky previews Rochdale trip

14 February 2020

Micky Mellon faced the local media ahead of Saturday's away game at Rochdale and wants his players to win their individual battles in order to get a positive result.

Mellon’s men, make the trip to Rochdale on Saturday afternoon for a 3pm kick-off, following a 0-0 draw against Bristol Rovers on Tuesday night.

“Rochdale want control of the football and they’re a very athletic team as well. They move the ball quickly and play out from the back which can sometimes leave them a bit vulnerable so that's something we will look at.

“They are respecting their own principles and credit to them for that, they believe that that’s the way they should go, so that’s the type of game I would be expecting”

“We’ve go to adapt, that’s what football is all about and like I've said so many times, we’ve just got to go and be ready for the challenge"

“What it’s about is the group of players going out and being able to own the day and the environment they play in. Whether it be windy or whatever, being able to carry out their tactics by the way that they play, how hard they work”

“That’s what Tranmere has always been about. Running hard, running forward, running back, keep it dead simple, let’s not complicate it”
