Tranmere Rovers first team players attend Premier League Primary Stars Education Workshop at Gayton Primary School

27 February 2020

Tranmere Rovers first teams players visited Gayton Primary School to take part in their education workshop as part of Premier League Primary Stars (PLPS).

Gayton Primary School have been taking part in our PLPS lessons for a number of weeks.  Tranmere Rovers in the community coaches have been into the school to support with the delivery of their curriculum P.E lessons.

This week the school also took part in an education workshop and Tranmere Rovers first team players Mark Ellis, Darren Potter and Callum Woods came along and got involved with the lesson. The children listened and got involved as the players spoke about their careers in sport, healthy eating and what a footballer has to do off the pitch to keep fit and healthy.

Defender Mark Ellis, spoke to us about the importance of engaging with the local community.

Ellis said “Tranmere Rovers is such a community based club, so it’s important to us and the club that we take part in things like this.”

“It’s great to get out and speak to the children. As footballers they look up to us so if we get to inspire them by coming along and talking to them for half an hour then I'm happy.”

We would like to thank Gayton Primary for their ongoing support and we look forward to working with them going forward.
