Tranmere Rovers in the Community host Premier League Primary Stars Futsal Tournament

30 January 2020

Tranmere Rovers in the Community played host to a number of schools today as part of Premier League Primary Stars futsal tournament.

Football tournaments are only one part of the Premier League Primary Stars initiative.

It is a way of bringing children together, to encourage them to be ambitious, inspiring, connected and fair.

A variety of teams joined us today, to take part in the action, including teams from West Kirby, Poulton Lancelyn and Christ Church Primary School.

We spoke to Kayden, one of the students from Christ Church Primary School.

Kayden said it was “amazing” to be able to come down to Tranmere with his classmates to get involved with the Premier League Primary Stars tournament.

He told us how he enjoyed “the games” and gave us an update on how he was getting on “we have lost two and won the rest… and drawn one”.

He also spoke about coming down to some of the Tranmere games including our FA Cup clash against Manchester United, where he sang along to tequila chants throughout the match.

We would like to thank everyone for joining us today, especially those involved in the organisation of the event.
