Tranmere Rovers can confirm tonight’s FA Cup third round replay against Watford at Prenton Park has been postponed.
A high volume of rain has fallen on Prenton Park in the last 48 hours, due to Storm Brendan, meaning tonight’s game will not be going ahead.
The Club can confirm the re-arranged fixture against Watford will now take place on Thursday 23rd January 7.45pm kick-off at Prenton Park.
Tonight’s pitch inspection was due to take place at 6.30pm, but the Club arranged for the referee to have an earlier look, so supporters were given as much notice as possible if the game was unable to go ahead.
Tranmere Rovers gave the game the best possible chance with a MacLeod Pitch Covering System deployed at Prenton Park yesterday evening. Club staff have also been working around the clock in order to give the pitch the best possible chance to host the game tonight.
We apologise profusely for any inconvenience caused to both sets of supporters who have already set off.
