Kane is buzzing to be back

25 January 2020

Right-back Kane Wilson admits that he is “buzzing” to pull on a Tranmere Rovers shirt again after he extended his loan stay from West Bromwich Albion until the end of the season.

The 19-year-old played nine times for Micky Mellon’s side earlier in the campaign before a knee injury forced him to return to his parent club.

But now back on the Wirral and raring to go, Wilson feels he is ready to hit the ground running at Prenton Park.

Wilson said: “I’m buzzing. It was something I wanted to get over the line and it’s finally done so I can get back down to work now.

“I think it’s the perfect time to sign, coming off the back of a result like that and obviously going into the Manchester United game, it’s an exciting time for the Club.”

“I went back to West Brom with a little bit of tendonitis and a knee injury and just so as it happened, the loan ended, so I had to focus on getting back fit before I re-signed, but I’m now back and raring to go.

“I had a few games in my first spell and it went well, but hopefully I’ll be luckier with injuries and it will be more plain sailing for the rest of the season.

“I genuinely look forward to the battle, for me on a personal level I want to take the experience from everything so I’m looking forward to it, and I think all the lads, especially after yesterday’s result can be used as a motivation.

“The fans on social media were all so kind to me. I think that plays a big part because it feels like I settled into the Club because barring injuries, the first half of the season went well for me, I was playing games and really enjoying my time here and it was when not if that I was going to re-sign.”
