Wilson stays until the end of the season

24 January 2020

Tranmere Rovers are delighted to confirm that right-back Kane Wilson has extended his loan stay for the rest of the 2019/20 season.

Wilson, 19, made nine appearances following on from his temporary switch from West Bromwich Albion in August, before returning to the Baggies to receive treatment following an injury.

But he has now returned to Prenton Park, as he links up with Micky Mellon’s men for the remaining months of the Sky Bet League One campaign.

The Birmingham-born defender, who is an academy graduate from his parent side’s youth system, bolsters Mellon’s options at the back.

And Wilson is delighted to get the loan deal extended, and he can’t wait to get going and pull on a Tranmere Rovers shirt again.

He said: “I’m buzzing. It was something I wanted to get over the line and it’s finally done so I can get back down to work now.

“I think it’s the perfect time to sign, coming off the back of a result like that and obviously going into the Manchester United game, it’s an exciting time for the Club.”

Welcome back to TRFC, Kane!
