Scott Davies wins PFA Community Player of the Year!

1 July 2020

Tranmere captain and goalkeeper Scott Davies has won the Club’s PFA Community Champion 2020 for his commitment to the local community.

Davies has been recognised for his commitment to the Club’s community work and for always going that extra mile off the pitch.

This season alone has seen the captain take part in our Super White Christmas campaign, visiting local schools to pick up and deliver their donations.

Scott has been heavily involved in the Club’s initiative to combat gambling and has been an advocate to the SWA2 campaign, encouraging and supporting our next generation of fans.

Upon receiving his award Scott said “I’ve been at Tranmere five years now and during that time i’ve seen the bond between the player’s and the community get closer and closer and that’s something i’m very proud of”

“It makes me proud to captain this football club and give something back to the people whether that be visiting schools, helping out with charities or helping our fans”

“Thank you for this PFA Community Player of the year award”

Steve Williams, Manager of Tranmere Rovers in the Community, said

“It is always great to see the players engaging with our programmes and interacting with the community, especially the younger ones as it means so much to them.”

"Everyone at Tranmere Rovers in the Community would like to thank Scott and the team for continuing to support and promote our work”
