Food parcels donated and delivered to residents in Beechwood

30 March 2020

Tranmere Rovers Football Club have been doing all that we can this month to play our part in helping the local community and wider during these difficult times.

One example of this has been 16 food parcel donations to residents in Beechwood, which is located just under five miles away from Prenton Park.

The Club were informed food parcels were instantly required for some residents in the area, and quick action was taken in order to supply those in need.

The food packages were put together at the Riverhill Hotel and delivered to the area, and Councillor Julie McManus, who represents the area, was grateful the Club was able to offer their support.

She said: “It has had a huge impact. We are in one of the most deprived areas of the country and the fact Tranmere Rovers acted so swiftly. They told us it would happen, and it did, it was swift, and it was exactly what was needed.

“Tranmere Rovers say they are a community club and they really are!”

A family member of a resident from Beechwood, who received one of the food parcels, said: “I just want to say a massive thank you for the food parcel she received. She was very overwhelmed and appreciative, your kindness has made such a difference, not only to her but her four children.

“It has taken a lot off our minds knowing they will be ok for meals and we are so grateful.”
