Setting the scene…

Tranmere Rovers will aim for a third Sky Bet League One win in a row on Tuesday night when they visit Bloomfield Road to play Blackpool, kick-off 7:45pm.

Micky Mellon’s men earned a second straight victory away at Accrington Stanley on Saturday, with James Vaughan and Mark Ellis on target in the 2-1 triumph.

The result sees Rovers move six points from safety with two games in hand ahead of the trip to Bloomfield Road, where Neil Critchley’s Seasiders await.

Critchley’s time as boss began with Saturday’s goalless draw at neighbours Fleetwood Town.

Team news

Midfielder Neil Danns will be assessed after having been caught by a challenge in Saturday’s triumph at Accrington.

Mellon has no other fresh injury doubts aside from Morgan Feeney remaining back with parent club Everton as he recovers from his hamstring injury.

One to watch

Forward Armand Gnanduillet leads Blackpool’s goal scoring charts after a prolific opening four months of the season for the Tangerines.

The Frenchman helped Blackpool clinch promotion from the Sky Bet League Two Play-Offs in May 2017.

He started his career with Le Harve and Poissy before signing for Chesterfield in January 2013.

Gnanduillet made 82 appearances for the Spireites either side of loans at Tranmere, Oxford United and Stevenage before moving permanently to Leyton Orient prior to switching to Blackpool in 2016.

The 28-year-old is in his second stint at the club, after a spell with Baroka in South Africa.

He has scored 18 times for the Fylde Coast outfit this term.
