Wilson looking forward to being back at Prenton Park

12 March 2020

Tranmere Rovers full-back Kane Wilson says that the momentum is with Micky Mellon’s men as they prepare to host Lincoln City at Prenton Park on Saturday.

Rovers have won their last three games – all away from home – securing victories on their travels at Shrewsbury Town, Accrington Stanley and Blackpool.

And ahead of making their return to the Wirral this weekend against Michael Appleton’s Imps, 20-year-old Wilson is relishing the home fixture.

Wilson said: “There’s nothing better than playing at home and I’m looking forward to doing that on Saturday.

“It’s crazy how much a win can change. One win can change it, then two wins and then three wins, then you start to get a little momentum then.

“When you’ve got momentum, you take it as every game, you see it as a game of football. It will be a good test and hopefully it will be the same result again.

“Football is a game of momentum, one minute you’re attacking. The next minute a passage of play happens, and you’re defending, and I think the momentum is with us.”

Rovers’ recent form has seen them move just three-points from safety in Sky Bet League One with a game in hand.

“It’s been exciting, but first things first, we haven’t achieved anything yet, it’s just three wins, it doesn’t mean anything if we don’t back it up,” Wilson added.

“We’ve had nice little bit of rhythm now and it is only going to help us really.

“We just have to keep staying on it and keep our head down, and that’s what we need to do.

“Maybe the luck has turned a little bit. Maybe some things that are dropping to us now weren’t dropping for us a few weeks ago.”
