To continue offering our seven day a week community support that we have been running for two months, we need your help so we can continue to provide those in need with vital necessities.
We have set up a fundraising page, which can be viewed by CLICKING HERE and all donations to this important cause are greatly appreciated.
Tranmere Rovers Associate Director, Ben Harrison, hopes the new fundraiser will help continue the support the Club is currently offering. Ben said: "We have now delivered more than 500 emergency food parcels to residents in need in the Tranmere/Rock Ferry area.
"Sadly the demand is massively increasing with over 120 requests in the last four days. Tranmere Rovers are meeting head on a real need and are helping those in our community at this crucial time, and any support you can provide will be a huge help."
Ben has been joined alongside a dedicated team of volunteers, who have been working around the clock, including Tranmere Rovers supporter Simon Crabtree, who explains how he first got involved in helping to support his local team's community initiative.
Simon said: “What we’ve been doing is working with the Riverhill Hotel by helping pack the parcels, making sure they are identical to send out to deliver to the identified areas in Wirral.
“About a week after lockdown we started doing it and taking the parcels out. It is brilliant to see the appreciation of the people who you drop the parcels off to. You’re probably looking at nearly 100 parcels we are delivering each week.
“The households we deliver to are very varied, so it just goes to show how Covid-19 is affecting people, so it is a broad spectrum of people who we have been delivering to, and people are very thankful for it.”
“What we are doing and what the Club is doing with our volunteers is brilliant.”
