Match Preview: Carlisle United

23 November 2020

Keith Hill takes charge of his first game as Tranmere Rovers manager when his new side host Carlisle United at Prenton Park on Tuesday night, 7pm kick-off.

Hill was appointed as Rovers’ new boss at the weekend, and he will be hoping that his squad can carry on their fine recent form.

Saturday’s 5-0 home drubbing of Grimsby Town was Rovers’ fifth straight victory in all competitions, with James Vaughan’s double, Peter Clarke, Otis Khan and Paul Lewis sealing an emphatic three points.

Chris Beech, who was Hill’s assistant at Rochdale, brings his buoyant Carlisle outfit to the Wirral after guiding them to a 3-0 triumph away at Crawley Town.

The Cumbrians are fourth in the table having collected 23 points from 13 outings so far.

Team News

Stefan Payne remains out of action with a long-term groin injury, as Paul Lewis returned to action last weekend. Liam Ridehalgh will continue to step up his recovery from injury.
